Lent 2025

Reading Scripture Together – Lent 2025

As we mark the days of Lent this year we are reminded that one of the challenges of Lent is for us to spend extra time focusing on our spiritual growth and how we might be more intentional in making time for God each day. As your Session reflected on this at our February meeting its members decided that for this Lenten season we would invite everyone to take time daily to read a chapter of scripture and reflect upon its message for our lives both individually and as a congregation.

There are 40 days in Lent not counting Sundays. There are also a total of 40 chapters in the Gospels of Mark & Luke together. We have prepared a list that suggests reading a particular Gospel chapter for each day in Lent and invite you to take time at home to read the suggested chapter for the day. As you read the chapter remember that others in our congregation are reading the same passage. Hopefully this will not only help us to make time for our daily devotions but also draw us closer to those who share our congregation as we Read Scripture Together. The link below will take you to the scripture list.
